The Duchess Is In

Who would have thought that life would be this way?
Slowly, but surely (09/08/11 2:43 PM PDT)
I got more wedding stuff in the mail last night. Things are coming along and it's getting hectic trying to plan everything. A lot of stuff is accomplished, but it's hard to feel like there's much progress when there's still so much to do. And life doesn't stop for a wedding... Life in general has been pretty busy. =(

Neurotic factoid moment (06/29/11 12:19 PM PDT)
I discovered that I don't like my fingers to smell of food. If I eat anything with my hands (sandwich, fried chicken, etc.) then I have to make sure I wash them with soap after I'm done eating and make sure they don't smell. And if my hands still smell after washing, I will wash them a second time until I can't smell anything. I particularly don't like the smell of fried foods on my hands.

Another related neurotic fact is that I can't stand the feel of lotion on my hands. If I happen to try to attempt to put lotion on my hands, I will end up washing my hands after 20-30 minutes.

SIGH (06/27/11 4:51 PM PDT)
Men... That's all I have to say about that.

Anime Expo this weekend on July 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (drive home Sunday night). Will be home for the 4th of July. Debating whether or not to buy fireworks? Kinda wanna, but the idea of spending any extra money gets roped in with the looming wedding budget. Not fun. Hopefully my dad gets a good deal on tri-tip so he can barbaque. And then my birthday is the week after that and I will be turning 31. How depressing... I, personally, do not find joy in turning older year after year. I think after 25, birthdays have become pretty "meh". The past two years I've actually cried on my birthday, no joke. My late 20s have not been very kind to me and my 30s don't seem to be getting any better. But at least I'm not 35 like some of you? Heh heh heh... I call you old farts lovingly. Really. =)

Impending five day vacation on the horizon (05/27/11 10:18 AM PDT)
I cannot wait for this day to end. Because after today's work day, I get five days of fabulousness away from work. Awesome, right? So Saturday and Sunday are the weekend, so no work regardless. Monday is Memorial Day so that's a paid holiday for me. Then Tuesday is my nephew's preschool graduation. At the time I requested to get the day off because I thought his graduation would be during school time, but it turned out to be 7 pm at night. So since I already requested it off, I'm keeping it. =P And then Wednesday I have my eye exam at 2:20 pm. Whenever I have doctors appointments, I normally just take the whole day off on sick time since working half a day is kind of a waste of gas for me (commute from Santa Maria to Cuesta). So I won't have to go back to work until Thursday! I excited. Sometimes it's the little things in life...

Anime Expo 2011 (05/26/11 3:13 PM PDT)
Woooooooo I get to see the Hatsune Miku 3D concert and hopefully will be able to see Kalafina too. They're on the same day so I bought Hatsune Miku tickets in hopes of getting stand by tickets for Kalafina. Didn't want to have to pay for two concerts and seeing a Vocaloid 3D singer in person isn't something that happens in the US very often. They hold her concerts all the time in Japan, but Anime Expo will be her first US concert. And they're having it in Nokia Theater! Love that place... Anyhoo, can't wait to see the schedules. I had to miss Anime Expo 2010 because of Jeremy's change in jobs at the time (no vacation time yet) so I am guaranteed to go this year with him saying yes to whatever (well almost whatever) I want to do. Not that I'm a demanding person or anything... No, serious. I'm really not...

Happy Easter! (04/24/11 2:44 AM PDT)
Wishing everyone a Happy Easter this year. May you spend it with family and friends. :)

On another note, it's spring break this coming week at my school and I have the pleasure of taking the week off on vacation. Employees are always encouraged to take vacation off during student break time since faculty and students will be off campus anyway. Plus I will be getting close to my maximum vacation accrument and the district has to pay out vacation at the end of the academic year so internally we are forced to use our vacation before the end of the year. I should be okay for the rest of the year if I take four days of vacation this week. Gotta be careful to not take too much since I need to make sure I have enough vacation time for when my wedding comes around. What a bother.

Exercise (04/21/11 10:25 AM PDT)
My arms and legs are still so sore from my gym trainer session on Monday. So much that I couldn't work out yesterday at the gym. I've been trying to keep myself on a workout schedule of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. However, I just hurt too much yesterday to put myself through it. So I'm gonna try to do some ab exercises at home today and then start back up with my regular gym workout schedule on Friday. If I cheat on my exercising then I might have to go on the weekend too. =( I'm really trying to stick to working out three days per week.

I'm also trying to learn to eat healthier. So far it's going so so. I have my good week and my bad week. I don't know when I'll start seeing progress from working out... I know you gain muscle before you start to lose fat (Or as you lose fat? Something like that...) so I might not see any weight loss for a while. And I'm not good at measuring inches or anything like that so I really don't have a good indicator of if I'm slimming down. And any negligible weight loss can be due to water weight so I'm trying to not be obsessive of weighing myself.
