Well I haven't been doing too much as of late. I did just get back from a week of vacation that I much needed. I went to Hollywood with my friends JJ, Andrea, and Matt. It was Andrea's bday and she wanted to go check out where Marilyn Monroe lived, was buried, and of course her hollywood star and hand prints at the Graman Theatre. We all spent the night and overall had a great time. We also saw that moving the Haunting in CT at the theater in the City Walk at Universal Studios and hung around there for a while.
Two days later I went with some teenagers from the Boys & Girls Club in SM to Atlanta, GA for a conference. I was one of 3 advisors for the group and my job was mostly to take the role of the head advisor when we was at meetings or helping out with the national staff. I wasn't needed too much but I did have a great time. These kids are part of the Keystone Club within the Boys & Girls Club. It's a leadership club that I used to be a part of when I was a member. I actually went to Atlanta a time before with the same group so it was nice to go revisit. The kids learned a lot and enjoyed thier time. They went to workshops and got to see the sights, as well as go to Six Flags over GA. It had some pretty awesome rides, but none were as great as ours!

Well its been 3 months since I joined Enterprise and I am still enjoying it. I have finally gotten my internal clock to wake me up at 5:30 am (even on weekends ugh!) I am waiting for my 3 month review and then I can take my Skills test to get my first raise. I am hoping to have everything done by next week but we shall see. If that is the case then I will be able to go for my next promotion about 3 months after that so I should be a Manager's Assistant by January and have another raise as well as a $1000 bonus!
As for life in general I am planning on going back to Rhode Island from November 29th to the 3rd of December to visit all my friends and attend a wedding. I am hoping that I get the time off this time and have everything go as planned, but that all depends on how these promotions go for my boss and his bosses. So I will keep my fingers crossed.

I JUST FOUND OUT THAT I GOT A JOB WITH ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR!
I'm excited, my job searching days are over for a while. I will be located somewhere in the central coast so that will be cool for a while. I was actually getting excited about moving to Simi Valley or Thousand Oaks like they were asking if I was willing to do. Oh well its an awesome job with pretty good benefits.

Well I didn't get the job in San Juan Capistrano so that was a bummer. The unit director called me on Monday and said that the only real difference between the person who got the job and me was that he had a year and a half of specific teen member experience. Oh well I know that there is something better for me out there. Speaking of which Enterprise Rent-a-car called me today asking a few questions. The person who does the interviews will be calling me in the near future so we shall see how that goes. I have also found an Assistant Director for Teen Services position available at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America national headquarters in Atlanta, GA that would be a great position to obtain since it is at the national level and will definately give me a lot of work experience. I also believe I will be working for the person who I have meet before when I was a member attending the annual conferences. We shall just have to wait and see.
On other note I just got all four wisdom teeth pulled out yesterday. I really can't remember much of yesterday besides sitting in the chair (not the trip to or entering the building) waking up in front of Albertson's while my dad was getting my medication, and getting an orange obsession from California Fresh. Everything else is blank. I asked my dad what I had said and did that day and I could honestly not remember. As for today I am doing better, I am a little sore and puffy, but other than that I am good. I should be able to start eating solids in another day or so.

Well the second interview went well, I was asked pretty much the same questions as before by the Executive Director, but his questions were more directed towards the marketing of the new Teen Center. The only blunder I felt I made was telling them that I was a procrastinator to illustrate how I work well under pressure. I don't know why I said such a thing, that is like engraved into our heads not to say when on an interview and I did. Oh well, I will hopefully be getting a call back by the end of next week for a third (and hopefully final) interview. This one will be in front of a panel of teenage members which should not be bad at all. I figured it costs me $200 in gas and a hotel room each time I go. So I hope that all this will be worth it.

Last weekend I went to vegas for the first time and have a great time. I went to a conference with a club that I am still involved in and we stayed at Harrah's. It was a lot of fun, we went to a couple of workshops but then we went to see one of the magicians on the strip and an improv show at Harrah's. I won $100 from a Wheel of Fortune slot machine of which I used to buy my tickets. I drove to and from Vegas and had a good time doing so.
I just went to San Juan Capistrano yesterday for a job interview at the Boys & Girls Club there. It was a nice drive and the city is amazing. It is right by the ocean and has a lot of Pismo Beach like qualities to it. The job is for a full time Teen Director position. They currently have a teen room like most other units, but in 2008 or at the latest 2009 they are going to built a Teen Center which will have different rooms strictly for the teens, the teen director's office, and on the second floor will be the administration offices. This would be an amazing start to my career in the Boys & Girls Club and hope that I get a call back this week for a second interview and hopefully the position. Wish me luck!
EDIT: I have a second job interview for the position on Wednesday!

Well my college life at Johnson & Wales University has finally come to an end. I am now back in California getting ready to face the real world. I will be going back to Providence in May for graduation as well as to show my family the in's and out's of the East Coast. I hope to eventually go for my MBA, but will try to secure a job that will help to pay or reemburse me for it. I can definately feel the weight being lifted off my shoulders, but know that it is just for the moment until I get a real job.

Geez I can't believe it's been a couple of months since my last entry. Well lets see. The countdown has already begun until I am officially done with my BA and furthering my education for the time being. I will be done with finals on Feb. 22nd. I am job searching at the moment and think it would be best if I went back to CA so that it would be easier for me to go to interviews and put on my resume that I live in CA because I think employers think twice when they see me applying for a CA, NV, or AZ position and see my address is in RI (JMO).
Anyways it is starting to hit me that my time in RI is coming to an end and now have to face that I will be having to say good-bye to a lot of people that I probably won't ever see again. It is a sad thing really but it is just a process of life. Other than that I am trying to enjoy the most that I can out of this 28 degree weather and trying to get everything completed. It's now the crunch time so I have multiple projects due within the next 2 weeks and I just need to get organized and get them all done. Well that is enough ranting and raving for now until next time.
